I am have just ordered my AMD 2500, and want to OC it. What memory do I need to get? Can I get by with PC2700 memory, or do I need PC3200?

Thanks

<sarcasm><i>Didn't you know? Only PC4000(DDR500) works for OCing. Anything less is just garbage.</i></sarcasm>But seriously though, why pair a fast CPU with slow RAM? No, you don't <i>need</i> PC3200, but it sure makes a difference.

My HyperX PC3500 worked for my OC.

Hyper X 3200 here also. Helped my OC as well.

I'm assuming your 2500 is a Barton. In which case, the pc2700 may poop out before your cpu forcing you to run non-synchronized timings that will hinder performance. Get the 3200 Ram to ensure that you'll at least hit 200MHz FSB.

Get pc3200 ram but you can push that chip beyond 200mhz so Id go ahead and get pc3500 just for a little headroom

F-DISK-Format-Reinstal DO DA!! DO DA!!

agreed pc3500, plus 215mhz (430mhz ddr) is probably the most you will get out of the nforce2 with stock cooling solutions. Pc3200 is fine, but pc3500 would be a good solution too, pc2700 would do little to help performance because by overclocking you would not increase the memory/fsb bandwith.

If it isn't a P6 then it isn't a procesor
