I'm trying to delete an .avi file that is not in use. It was a movie, but i
do not want it on my comp. anymore. Whenever I try to delete it though, it
takes 10 seconds, then an error message says that the file is in use by
another program, so I can;t delete it. I've tried putting the comp. into
safemode to dleete it but not even that worked. It came up with the same
error message when I clicked delete. Is there any other way to delete this
file?

Hello,

Open up a command prompt window (Start/Run CMD) and type DEL and put a space after that. Now, drag
the specific file to the command prompt window and release it. Go back to the explorer window and
unselect the file. Flip back to the command prompt window and hit ENTER. The file should now get
deleted. Personally, this method works for me 99% of the times.
