Windows 7 uninstalled but I still get the OS choice screen

I installed Windows 7 on another (D) partition of my hard drive, played with it a few times and reformated that partition. However when the system boots now I still get the OS choices screen that offers Windows 7 or an Earlier version of Windows.

There's no reference to the other partition and Windows 7 in boot.ini, so what gives?

How do I get rid of this unnecessary os choices screen?

  1. Just do a startup repair from the install disc for the OS you are using
  2. When your in Windows, right click my comp. then go to the advanced tab, click on startup & recovery settings, You'll be able to see everything that needs to be changed there. :)

in xp type msconfig into the run box,

under one of the tabs should be a bunch of text similar to the bottom of your message, remove the one for windows 7.
