I currently have a Asus Xonar D1 soundcard which is great. Due to the wife getting annoyed with my louding gaming antics I hoping to purchase a good headset.
From reading the net I've heared possitive/negative opinions about the sound/build quality of gaming headsets and I'm now confused. Should I purchase a headset or just go with a good set of sterio headphones like the HD555? I would love to game in 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound but most headsets with 5.1 or 7.1 are configured with a USB contector that would not go via my dedicated soundcard.
If I was to purchase a USB 5.1/7.1 headset would it cause problems with my Asus D1 installed?
