Is the Barton 2500 the best processor for your money from AMD? To upgrade, with a motherboard with support up to 2800+, what the best processor?

Best bang per buck you mean?
If you want the best bang per buck in the XP line the XP2400+ is probably slightly better value as it runs at a higher speed and isnt hampered too much by its smaller cache...
But the Barton 2500+ offers 512kb cahce and an ability to overclock well above 2Ghz.
A very useful chip. (assuming you can overclock on your motherboard)
