Win 7 product key

Hello,
I installed win 7 home basic professional and now it needs product key , I couldn't find it in my computer and it is not in the package. How can I find that ?

It's a sticker in the box the Windows disc came in. You can even stick it on your tower if you like. If the sticker is not there either talk to the store you bought it from or call Microsoft. There really isn't anything else you can do.

If you have a legitimate copy of Windows, the sticker should be inside the DVD case. What concerns me is that you can't decide which version of windows you have, is it home basic (not likely) or professional? It can't be both. If that is what it says on the packaging, you my friend have bought counterfeit software.

If you purchased it online I would check the confirmation receipt Email. If this is a system restore then there should be a sticker somewhere on your computer with the key on it. If you purchased Windows from a store then it should be on the CD case.

If you got really cheap netbook, it could have come with "Windows 7 Starter", and the product key should be attached to the netbook.
