since the alst week im having some problem with my computer
here the problem:my computer turn off (not reboot completly turn off)randomly.
So 1st i suspected a virus : i scanned all my drives with norton antivirus 2004---- no result
2nd i suspected my new ram that i installed last week---i uninstalled it and it does the same thing
3rd is suspected the power supply --- so i deplugged a non fonctioning cd rom --- no result the computer stil turned off
4rd i supected the power supply connection --- i deplugged the the p4 connector to the motherboard and then HO the surprise 1 of the 4 little thing in metal was burn but not completely burned..so maybe that the problem.
So i really dunnno what the problem ho by the way here my config
Antec power supply(smartpower)300w
2 HDD (20 + 60)
1 cdrw burner
Abit bd7II-RAID motherboard
P4 1.7 ghz
GF4 ti 4600
Sb live !
cold cathode + 2 cooling fans (1 with led one standard)
512 ddr (1 is 333 the other is 400 bu the two run at 266 :\)1 floppy drive
It sounds like overheating to me. Check your system again, this time with the side off. Check your CPUs HSF to see if it's running.

Atx power supplies turn off if they detect a short. Maybe something fell in when you changed ram, etc. Check for loose screws, and try looking for burned components on the mobo. Loose the scorched power supply for sure.
