Man!!!!! Doesn't that thing weigh a ton!!!! Your ahead of me... Dam.... I haven't loaded a game, yet to see on the new rig.... I'm finishing up the last of the 4 machines right now... All I've done so far is 3Dmark with it.. I've never seen 3Dmark look so good though...
I am a fan of Nvidia, always have been...It seem every cycle I need a card, it ends up Nvidia is the one I get.. There's nothing wrong with ATI though....

I know how it is when you get the bug.... Just can't wait!!! My son is going through the same thing.. His bonus is coming the end of the month & he can't order until then... So he's keeping me updated daily on the CPU's & boards... He's even worse than you are.... He's had his hands on my rig & has felt the speed!!!! He's more than likely in worse shape than you waiting, because of it...

I'm not.... I don't even know what I've got yet... I did load Steam back up this morning... Stupid Steam Backup backed up everything alright, but the saved games... So starting over again.. I took what settings the game gave my card.. I think it's 8 x AA & 2 x AF... Very playable.. So much to look at now... It's a tad jaggy at that speed though.. Going to have to play with the settings a bit...
I miss SoundStorm though... The solution on the MSI, a97, isn't as good as the SoundStorm I've always ran on XP chips... Not bad, but not as good...

On the power lines that are all through the first levels.. That's what the game defaulted my card to.. So I accepted it to see what it would look like at HL2's settings. I don't have a bit of problem with speed or shooting in the game now.. Seeing things that I couldn't / didn't the first 2 times I played through....
The A97 isn't as robust at all.. btw I've got the Nforce 3 chip set.. The bass isn't as deep & rich as the SoundStorm.. I also don't like having to go 3 or 4 places adjusting the various volumes & such... SoundStorm had all the controls on one panel.. I can't seem to get the mike to working on my clients machine.. It works fine on mine, but I can't get his to working right for some reason.. theres a new release driver on MSI's site I'm going to up grade him to, hopefully that will take care of it..
