You can take ME defrag and just put it into 98SE, from what you said you can't do that with XP
That's absolutely correct. That can't be done.

I think you could arrange how your files are installed a little better, considering that you have three partitions ... for several reasons.
1.) If you ever decided to use an imaging program (like Drive Image or Norton Ghost) as a backup method, having as few programs as possible installed in the system partition that contains the operating system files would considerably lower the amount of hard drive space and/or CD-R disks needed for the image.
2.) If an image is stored on the hard drive, the best place is the last partition on the disk. This is because if the drive ever begins to fail, loss of access to files usually occurs at the top of the disk, and many times, files can still be retrieved from off the last partition with a program like XXCopy. This is also the reason that I prefer to store my more personal important files in the last partition, instead of the partition that contains the OS.
3.) Extra partitions are often created for organization purposes, more than anything else. I don't really see why you would prefer to install the games in with the operating system files when you have a partition already available that could be used for this purpose. Personally, I would do some rearranging, and reinstall the games in one of the two logical partitions. This should allow you to resize the system partition, and make it smaller ... and the extra free space could be redistributed among the other partitions, which would leave more room for personal files. 7 to 10GB should be more than enough space for the system partition, if you installed your games elsewhere.
When you install Norton Utilties ... no, you can't just install SpeedDisk. You can definitely customize the installation, and remove a few of the other items that come with the package that aren't needed. But you can't just install SpeedDisk and nothing else at all.
If what you are looking for is a different defragmentation utility, why buy a program that has items that you don't need or want?
I like Diskeeper, personally. I think it is more powerful than the SpeedDisk utility, and has the advantage of performing a boot-time defragmentation run, which allows the program to move the directories to the top of the partition before Windows loads.
If all I needed for a system was a disk defragmentation utility ... that's all I'd get. I wouldn't buy an unnecessary package just to get one item. That's just a waste.
If I were you, I'd go with Diskeeper or O&O Defrag v4.
