Eight Ball Deluxe Drop Target issues....help please

Hi there,

I'm dealing with an eight-ball deluxe with the now infamous 2-ball, 4-bank
drop reset problem (they seem to be tied together). While I have found some
great info, I didn't find a specific solution. I can only assume I am
replacing diodes on all six coils associated with this cluster.

I do have a specific question. Should one, the other, or both of the 7 bank
of drop target coils have the same 3 lug, dual diode set-up as all the other
coils associated in this matrix seem to have? Right now both are just 2 lug
with a diode.

Thanks in advance,

-Jeff

If you've googled here for anything related to EBDs banks of drop
targets, then you've prob'ly seen most of the suggestions, but in the
end my problem was sloved when I checked the schematics for the
solenoid board expander and saw that someone had put one of the wires
in the wrong spot in the connector. Once I fixed that everything worked
fine. I'm still going to replace the relay on the same board due to
some other things going on, but the drop target problem was solved.

Good Luck!

I had this problem and went through various attempted solutions to no
avail. Then, I remembered the under playfield fuses for the solenoid
expander board. Bingo, that solved my problem. It would be worth
taking a look there if you have not done so yet.

Hi there,

Yes, my solenoid expander does work properly, and the light lights, etc.
The other solenoids that go through the expander do work properly. Its just
the 2 drop and the 4 bank of drops that i'm having the issues with.

I still need to know though, should one, the other, or both of the 7 bank
of drop target coils have the same 3 lug, dual diode set-up as all the other
coils associated in this matrix seem to have? Right now both are just 2 lug
with a diode.

Thanks for the suggestions.
