You aren't going to get a product key from here, I can tell you that.

From what it seems, you just need a working machine for occasional use? Then I advise you install a free Linux OS like Ubuntu and install some office programs (dont know of any that are Linux compatible, but im sure after some digging you could find something) on it.

As far as I am aware there is not a free version, even for kids (students).

Linux is your answer as posted above and OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org/) will run on linux and will allow your kids to edit any work that they have done previously in Microsoft Office and is your best bet if you want something truly free.

EDIT: If you already have a laptop what OS is already on it? You don't particularly need Win 7 ultimate for kids homework. If it's windows XP then just put OpenOffice on that and you should be sorted.

^ I was actually just being sarcastic, I really meant that we don't treat students nor old people any different when it comes to free product keys.

^ Yeah I got that

Can't work out whether the OP is genuinely enquiring whether such a thing a as a free key exists for their kids, rather than asking after something that they know they shouldn't like so many on here do... Though Win 7 ultimate is a very specific request for such a thing...

^ I see what you did there.

Though only use that kind of thing for when the OP is undoubtedly trying to get a pirate key. In cases like this where its unsure (if only because of the bare minimum of back story), its better not to throw insults.

It was harsh i agree but it's not like the OP is going to be able to work out what it actually means!
