Neutron stars can also have magnetic fields a million times stronger than the strongest magnetic fields produced on Earth

I was under the impression the energy from the nuclear reaction would be compressed and the explosion would jet from the source due magnetic sheer. Similar effect we see from sun spots.
But I am no specialist in blowing up nuclear weapons on the surfaces of uber dense stars.
