ok i have an athlon xp 2700+
When i run prime95 with no ocing at all it go to 60-61C
When i run it with 200fsb (11x200) i get 60-64C

Are those temp normal for prime torture test. And why is my oced temp no much higher.

My last question is . Will my computer shut itself down if its about to go too hot. my mobo = a7n8x-x

My own beast: Athlon 2700xp+ , Radeon 9800pro (oc: 410/370) , 512mb ddr400. SO MUCH faster than my father pIII 550......

It sounds a little warm, but then again so does your stock temps.

I assume you are running a stock cooler yes?
If so then i wouldnt expect much better.

So long as it doesnt freeze or crash you should be ok.
If it does then it may be getting too hot.

Also, in the bios you should be able to manually set the shutdown temp.

that board reads the ondie sensor, you'r temps are okay, if not extremely low either. And yes it will shut down if you enable it in the BIOS

Those temps are ridiculous. I currently have an Athlon XP 1800+ (Tbred B), operating at 1.7v (2GHz). For cooling I have one SLK-800 heatsink and a SmartFan 2 @ 3000rpm. My temps is 38C idle and 43C under stress. I believe we do have a difference here!!!
