I was helping Ken Chaney with a game he was fixing up to bring to
CA Extreme in two weeks. First he showed me a game that was nearly
finished and ready to bring, a Williams "Jolly Jokers". This is an
Add-A-Ball game with an unusual angled cushion between and below
the flippers, just begging for nudging (which I am not in the habit
of doing). I see there are no "fun ratings" on the IPDB, so make
sure you play this one and then get some ratings posted! It also
has a perpetually-moving oscillating target and carryover special.
He got this only a couple weeks ago at the last San Jose auction.
Now, the game I helped him work on is a Bally/Midway "Midnight
Marauders", a gun game with AS-2518-35 pinball board-set (and
Squawk & Talk sound), but mechanically-moving targets with opto
sensors on them that you shoot with an infrared rifle! Cool
black-light fluorescent targets, and it taunts you with the voice
feature: "Miserable effort, try again, human!" I'd certainly
never seen this game anywhere before either.
It isn't easy to squeeze around in his warehouse, so I think they'll
take the opportunity to sweep when all the games are out at the show!
