I have just installed Win2k on a new system and i partitioned an 80 gig ata100 drive into a 20 gig c: and 60 gig d:

Now that WIn2k is installed, i want to format d: so i can use it but i get errors when i try. It says that it can't format it or that volume size is to big. Does this mean that i have to split the d: again because it larger than 32 gigs? Or is there a way of formating with a 60 partition? I used fat32 for the c: and want to use it also for d:

And another thing. I read somwhere that win2k doesn't support ata-100 drives?

thnx in advance.

Just start the system with a Win9x boot disk, and use the FORMAT command to format the partition. For example, if the partition drive letter is (D:), once at the command line (A: prompt), type FORMAT D:, and type "Y" and hit Enter, when asked if you wish to actually format the partition. Since the partition is 60GB, the format will automatically use the FAT32 file system.

Win2K supports ATA-100 drives. But for the best results, you should definitely install the latest chipset drivers for your mainboard, which should be available at the manufacturer's website.

yeah, what he said, also be sure to install SP3, and unless you are dual booting, I'd convert to ntfs on both drives.
