I'm buying new Computers for our CAD dept. (Running Solidworks). We want screemers! a) What's faster: Dual processor 3.2Ghz/533Mhz FSB Zeons with 2G of 266Mhz memory(DIMMS) or (1) Pentium 4 - 3.2Ghz/800Mhz FSB with 2G of 400 Mhz memory (DIMMS)
b)What, other than what is stated above, would you recommend?

Graphics card spec'd: (Nvidia fx 1000)....recommendations appreciated also.

I appreciate whatever advice you can lend. Thanks!

Maybe this helps:

Seems like a dual Xeon will be a waste of money, better spend it on the video and ram.

I use a P4 2.4B with Solidworks 2003. I'm looking for a job and have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design. Hire me!

My 2.4B runs it lickity split, the 3.2C should run it lickity slitter (pun intended).
