How to clone hard drive to 64gb flash drive and restore to another hard drive

please help. I have a hard drive I want to backup to a 64gb flash drive and then restore it to another different hard drive than where it came from. I have windows 7 and office on my laptop and I want it on my desktop pc. There isn't close to 64gb of info on my laptop so it should be fine even though the hard drive says I have 160gb. It is all free space except for those programs. So please tell me how to do this. Thanks

It is highly unlikely to work as the two Motherboards are completely different. Your Laptop has an OEM Volume Licence that cannot be transferred to another machine, it won't activate. The most sensible approach is to clean install Windows on your Desktop having purchased an OEM version, and download and install Office using the key which you presumably purchased and can retrieve using Belarc Advisor. If, however, you have an older version of Windows on your Desktop and want to upgrade, consider Win 8 as it will never be cheaper...
