Strange.. a bus issue.. I mean, if the chipsets can support 800 MHz (they can obviously), and the cpu can reach decent clockrates, than what is the problem ? I always thought the cpu was the limiting factor in clockspeed (core), and the chipset the limiting factor in FSB speed.

The only way I can make sense out of this, is that intel is having trouble supplying enough current to Prescott using 478 pin sockets. That would nicely fit with all known rumours so far (good yields on .09, though high leakage/current/power/heat issues, first 533 FSB .09 Celerons, etc, etc). Bring on socket 775 !
