Dont really know much about the Pentium stuff, have been using AMD. Want a new setup and thought Id try this.
Main concerns questions are. Motherboard, processor, memory.
Heres what I came up with please suggest and comment.

-ABIT IC7-G, Intel 875P chipset for Socket 478 800MHz Canterwood ATX Motherboard
-Intel Pentium 4 / 2.6CGHz 512k socket 478 Hyper Threading Technology 800 MHz FSB
- (2) GEIL DDR RAM 512MB PC-3200 Value 400MHz Ultra- CAS 2.5, 2T Command With Extreme Performance Heat
Is this a cost effective setup?
Iv read the Asus makes a good board for the P4. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help.

I'd go with the IS7 instead, you won't notivce too much of a performance drop at all and you'll save quite a bit over the IC7-G.

great set up if your going to OC. if your going to OC make sure you get some decent ram , ddr3700 at least.

if your not going to OC buy a P4P800. they are cheap and have loads of features. i brought a P4C800 and i believe i should have brought the p4p.

there is about a $110AU price difference
