Pioneer receiver shuts off?

my pioneer receiver powers off, coincidentaly since adding a media center to it, would that be the problem? could it be overloaded?

The pioneer has a protection circuit. It detects something improper, usually at the output and shuts down.
Since we don't know what your media center is, or how it's connected, it's hard to say.
Does it ever shut off with the media center disconnected?

Yes, it does shut down with the media center disconnected. We try to use the dvd player and the amp and dvd player are shutting down????

The pioneer probably has some bad output transistors, or possibly a bad relay. It could be fixed at the service center.
