Unstable windows 7 after upgrade

Hello,
after an install windows is very unstable monitor blinks off for a few seconds, will not allow download of drivers from nvidia, nor good install of games

if all you did was an upgrade install,

click start type cmd
hit enter
type sfc /scannow
it may ask for a windows disc if it finds problems so have on handy
