Intel just officially launched the P4EE No products sighted yet anywhere though, but the price is real enough: $925 a pop if you buy most if intel's production of EE's for the entire year
AMD's response can't be far away either; my local shop has a A64 3400+ (2.2 GHz) listed for availability within 2-6 days. Price is right between the A64 3200+ and the FX51 (I wonder if the 3400 will not often outperform the FX though).
On a side note, it looks like the next XBOX 2 is not going to run an intel or AMD CPU, but an IBM Power cpu !. Now, since we have heard MS' was going to support 5 or so 64 bit architectures, I think this means MS will actually build an OS for IBM's power architecture as well (remember NT for the PPC ?). This would give them a better shot at the highend 64 bit workstation and server market they want so desperately than Itanium and Opteron combined.
Finally, an interesting product launch of an opteron based super computer building block by octigabay . Opteron is really doing well here.
