Blu-ray on desktop playing great background sound but no audio from actors! what did you guys do?

this is what worked for me.

Control panel -

manage audio/sound devices.

choose ur default sound device. -

right click it and click Properties

choose enhancements

select all.

click final enhancement ENABLE ROOM CORRECTION (make sure it is ticked in the box but also click on the description.

below on the window find MORE ENHANCEMENTS.

have ur blu-ray playing and adjust the left and right channel tabs to what is comfortable for you.

I unplugged the adapter (I had one that I used for my laptop, since it doesn't have connections for 5.1 speakers), and plugged in the front, bass/centre, and the rear speaker connectors into my sound card.
