It can be a faulty program, that or miss evaluates the different amounts or samples the cartridges wrong.
When you say that you change the cartridges often, it's because the color on the sheet comes faded, or because the program indicates that is no more ink left?
Try reinstalling the program using an updated driver, that is adequate for your system.
Try reinstalling the cartridge itself.
If none of the above works, and it's really a malfunctioning program (Assuming that the cartridges are fine), so you have two options:
1. Live with it.
2. Take it to the near HP laboratory or HP certificated technician.
