I am using a USB external drive for storage on windows xp home sp1
It has performed well and still works fine.
However I recently noticed that a folder has become "invisible" on this
drive..
This folder contained various files for backup.
Now I cannot find it on the drive. When I enter the search name nothing can
be found.
However I had made a shorcut to this folder on the desktop before this event
and I can access the contents of the folder from there, so it must still
exist. The path of the shortcut shows the folder.
I can only assume that the folder icon has somehow disappeared on the
external drive.
Can I recover the icon on the drive somehow?
Thanks in advance for advice

Hello,

Did you mark the folder as 'hidden' by any chance ? If yes, follow the shortcut to the folder and
right click on an empty area in the folder and select properties. On the general tab, uncheck
'hidden' and click on OK.
