Hi, I have what may be a unique problem. After re-installing my XP os from the manufacturers installation disks, my network card is constantly trying to "Acquiring network address". But the thing is, I have connectivity! This gets triggered when I dock or undock my laptop. If I undock, the wireless card starts this cycle (even though I connect to the internet just fine), then when I dock, the both card start the cycle.

History: hard drive crashed on my dell latitude e6500, after which I re-nstalled XP, but installed the latest drivers and bios from dell's web site. Everything worked fine except the acquiring problem and my laptop never automatically goes into standby per the power settings. I then installed the older drivers from the install cds and have the same problems.

what gives?
