Thinking of upgrading my P4 1.8 processor to a P4 2.4. Was wondering if Ill actually see a difference for the $170 Ill be spending. Spend most of my time playing onlines game btw.

**Edited 11/12/03: The 1.8 processors is a Williamette.

If it's a Northwood and your board supports 133MHz FSB, you can usually run a 1.8A at 2.4B speed. For free.

I have my P4 1.8 at my office running at 137MHz FSB for a whopping 2.466 GHz. It did it without even a squeak of resistance and with stock cooling.

I just hope my boss doesn't find out

Most bosses are techno-luddites.
relax!
They wouldnt know the difference between a celleron and a P4 if you used big colour diagrams.

If it dies it dies and get a new one :p
