Is this processor backwards compatible with Mobos in the 533FSB class. I bought a Asus P4PE awhile back hoping to eventually upgrade to a 3.0Ghz 533 HT. But now that the cheaper P4s are out could I use one of them In HT mode in the P4PE. I already expect the answer is no but never hurts to ask.

their is a bios update so that you can run the new cpus on them. Just make sure you have the ram that is needed to run 400fsb.

P4 2.6c at 3.25, Abit IC7-G Max3, OCZ pc 4000, 2X raptors in a raid, and ATI 9700 pro 390/324.

I doubt the board will run reliably at 200MHz FSB.
