i have short listed the studio 15 as the laptop i want to go for but i have two options with it

1)
i5-520m(2.6ghz) with 1gb ati mobility radeon -5470 graphics card .
i will also have a screen reso. of 1920x1080 and 4gb ddr3 ram.

2)
i7-720qm(1.6ghz) with 512 mb ati mobility radeon 4570 graphics card.
i will not have the 1920x1080 reso here.

i will use the laptop for moderate gaming(god of war,nfs series,) and also for net surfind ang video burning etc.
my question is whether i7 is worth it or should i stick to the i5 .i am not a hardcore gamer but i would like to play the latest games atleast in moderate graphics after 1 year atleast.also will it be sufficient if i pair the i5 with 1gb graphics compared to the i7 512 mb graphics.

thanx a lot ...

First of all 512MB vs 1GB won't make a noticeable difference in games.
Also 5470 and 4570 are low-end cards so don't expect to run games well(you mostly have to play new games on low settings)
About i7 vs i5,go for the i7 one because IMO i7 720QM is the best price/performance laptop CPU.
There are some games/apps which benefit from a quad core CPU

I have this same question. Is the i7 THAT much better than the i5 for a casual gamer + HD media watcher? I'm not talking like Crysis or games like that, just TF2/CS:S/the new Starcraft 2

Its better in apps and games which benefit from multi core CPUs,however for watching vids and playing some games an i5 suffices

If you mostly keep it on your desk you will be fine, also you can buy an after market notebook cooler

1920x1080 will make the desktop extremely small on a 15" display so you will be fine with 1366x768
