I am curious as to the best method for checking your CPU temp. I have a temp probe installed against the side of the CPU die, which usually gives me a much higher readout than what the temp. sensor on the M/B gives me. I use Sandra to check the CPU temp and when Sandra reports 35C, the temp. probe will usually read 45-50C.
Any ideas on why the probe is so much higher, or which temp. I should actually trust as being more accurate?
