I have a Solo 9300 where the LCD screen has turned white. I have checked all
the brightness controls and I cant seem to change it. The question is,
would this be the LCD or the motherboard that is the problem.

Thank you,
Stoner

Attach an external monitor. If it works OK, it's the panel.

If it is the panel, chances are it can be repaired for $200 or less - far
less than the cost of replacement. Contact an LCD repair specialist.

Unfortunately I dont have a desktop PC. Just another laptop. What are the
chances it is the LCD? Id take it to a repair shop, but all the shops around
here seems not to work on laptops.

Thanks,
Stoner

The symptoms point to a failed matrix driver. That's a board-level repair -
you probably will have to resort to send-away repair unless you live in a
metro area with such a company.
