ToM Extra Fuses under Playfield?

I just did a repair on a ToM and someone added about a half dozen extra
fuses mounted under the playfield. All the magnets had fuses added and
a couple of other coils too. They were just spliced in-line with the
power circuit and screwed to the underside of the playfield with the
fuse value written in Sharpie next to it. Has anyone ever seen this
before?!

Also of note was the GI wires that were all soldered to the driver
board and the remotely mounted BR2 that was screwed to the wall of the
backbox.

I love those eBay re-imports!

Isn't there an aadams family mod that puts fuses on the magnets? Maybe
it's similar for the ones on ToM..... fusing other coils I'm not so
sure is a smart idea, or needed. Ops technicians do some crazy stuff
sometimes..... at least they fixed it so it kept working eh???

Yeah.... Someone put fuses in line for the magnets so if they lock on
they won't affect the playfield. However, I don't think TOM's have this
problem. The magnets are not on for long periods of time. I don't think
it's necessary. The fuses should be 2 amp if the mod is used.

I could see the under PF magnet mod, but why the diverter (spirit ring)
or trunk magnets and other coils? Anybody ever seen a melted trunk?
That would be cool. You're playing along, about to try for multi-ball
and the trunk liquifies before your eyes. Now THAT's magic!
