Looking to build a new machine, here are some of the components:
case: Aspire X-Superalien (ATX6SW) w/ 500W powersupply
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200
Motherboard: Asus K8V Deluxe K8T800 Retail
...
the case came with a LCD cpu/hdd temp display on the front, and it detects temps via two sensors, Can someone please tell me where exactely should I attach the CPU and HDD sensor to (in between CPU and socket? CPU and FAN? wherever?)? And how? if i need to tape it, what kind of tape should I use? What should I pay attention when doing it?
Or, do i even need this cpu sensor at first place? because I've heard that some mobo has a built in that detects cpu temp, how do I know? Thanks in advance

built in probes usually are wrong(too low)
Get some double sided tape, the kidn you get at hobby shops, NOT double sided scotch tape. Cut a small 1cm x 1.5cm piece and place the prode on it, then stick it to the underside of the CPU, or the side with the temps. Run the thin wires through the pins and drop the CPU in the socket!

HDD i cant really help you out with!
