Native resolution on Toshiba laptop problem

I got my friends laptop to reinstall Windows, but after doing so I've lost the option to set the resolution to its native 1600x900. I've downloaded all the drivers necessary from the Toshiba website, but still no avail. After installing CCC and running it, it says "There are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD Control Center." I googled a bit and it seems I'm stuck in default VGA mode. When I go to check display adapter properties, it does indeed say VGA adapter. The laptop model is Toshiba Satellite L775D-S7220.

You did not install all the necessary drivers.

Toshiba's website has 1 driver listed for graphics. I've installed it.

You also need to install the chipset drivers for the video to work properly. That might be the driver listed as the AMD xHC driver.

I found this AMD xHC driver you're talking about but when I go to run it, it extracts fine, and it says setup should start automatically after extraction, but nothing happens.
