OK, so I'm going to try to diagnose this this weekend. I've read the
Marvin site, and don't think it's run of the mill sticky parts. The
weakness started some time back in the right flipper. Recently it
spread to the left flipper. The upper right flipper has seemed fine
straight along. Now what's strange is that this seems intermittent.
First thing I will try is cleaning the optos, but does this sound like
failing LM339's on the Fliptronics board?

I went to play this morning, and all flippers seemed to have decent
power. After half an hour of play the left flipper coil seemed warm
(warmer than the right), but not hot.

I guess I will start with a rebuild to rule out mechanical issues, but
is there any good way to be sure it's the LM339's or not? I was going
to swap optics boards, to rule bad opto out, but I currently don't have
the problem happening.

I really doubt it's a LM339. Do the basics, clean flipper button opto
boards. Check plungers for a sharp edge or wear dragging inside the coil.
Then any connectors involved from the transformer to boards to coils, make
sure you don't have a loose connector. LTG :)
