restoring win2k default

strange question here and not necessarily related to Dell but it
happening on a Dell dimension 3000 w/1gb mem. three dys ago something
happened to my system and changes were made that i never implemented.
my statup folder has created some entries that i cant get rid of. here
is the example that is bugging me: i keep admin tools handy so i can
use.review various elements. it got duplicated as adminnistrative
tools.old. the real admin tools is also there and useable, but i cant
get rid of the bogus one. i have adjusted the properties as well as
limited access to the administrator only, i just have this dup and
cant get rid of it and really dont want to format c: just to get rid
of this. tks for any help here, mahalo and aloha
