Anyone know where I can find a free software fanbus controller? The fan on my heatsink is around 5,000 RPM, which is too noisy for me. The hard ones with the little dial on them you can buy at the store run around 25 bucks.... which is a bit too pricy for me. Any links anyone?
The only time you are going to be able to control a fan in your case is if you have a hardware fan controller or you motherboard has an integrated function for it. I've never seen a software fan controller...only hardware fan controllers like <A HREF="http://www.bjorn3d.com/_preview.php?articleID=76" target="_new">this</A> or <A HREF="http://www.monster-hardware.com/modules.php?name=Reviews&rop=showcontent&id=21" target="_new">this</A>. If you want a good hardware fanbus controller...try the <A HREF="http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1462" target="_new">Vantec Nexus</A> cuz it looks sweet and performs.

Most splendid, I found 2 fan controllers when I went to Comp USA tonight. One made by PCToys, and the other a Comp USA brand. They were 5 dollars each. They just control a single fan, and are fairly small.
The ones you are referring to, I saw those. They fit in CD drive bays, giving you access in the front, and to about 5 fans. Some had like LED screens I think, and other features. I don't need to spend $20 on that LOL, not when I can find 2 of them for half that price.
