Can i connect my stereo speakers to my computer

I have a pair of philips stereo speakers, they have just the wires that you stick into the back of the stereo. I was wondering if there is a way i could fix a plug/connecter of some sort onto these wires so that i can plug it into my computer to use as speakers.

The problem is that there isn't amp to drive the speakers but you could buy a cheap used receiver at a thrift store for around 20 dollars and output from the computer to the receiver. You will need a RCA splitter cable (stereo mini plug split to 2 standard RCA plugs) to a input in the receiver.
