Hey guys thanks for helping me in advance. I am going into college next fall and I am currently looking to buy a laptop. I plan on bringing my desktop (I think specs are in my sig) as well for hard-core, graphic intense gaming, but I was wondering if any of you had some specific suggestions or thoughts to add in my endeavour for the perfect machine for me.
I would like to not go over $800.
The size of the monitor is not too critical. I would like it to be a rather 'medium' size. somewhere around 15"
Resolution is not something that I am worrying about
I would prefer for the laptop to be portable. Not netbook size, but not a huge 15lb clunker that gives me a workout to bring anywhere
Obviously I would like a longer battery life as I dont want to be in my room charging it all day. I am not too sure what the standard is (I am assuming 6-cell or something) but the bigger the better !
The only games that I really plan on playing with my laptop will be Blizzard games. WoW, SC2, D3(when they're out... in 2015). Everything else like Crysis2 BC2 and the works will be done on my desktop. Being that these games are not really too demanding I assume that the GPU doesnt need to bee too great.
I do plan on watching movies with it, but I am not a quality freak so 'whatever'p it is I really do not care too much. As long as I can see the film in decent quality I am fine -not really a big deal.
Being that I do not know how to burn movies onto my HD I do not need 4 terabytes of space.. Around 500gigs will be more than enough.
I would prefer to keep my laptop for at least the 4 years I am at college. Being that Ill be thousands in debt it is not really something I will want to have to buy again
Drives- I don't really know... dvd? whatever seems most useful.
I am not really an enthusiast of any certain brand. I mean I don't want a mac (for obvious reasons ) but I am open to anything really.
Thanks again for any imput that you have. Also if you think I should wait until the summer to buy due to sales/ whatever let me know!
