Thanks again to all who helped on the video issue, I was having

Same machine Dell XPS T600R.

After reformatting and putting in a different video card, all was well. So
I started reinstalling stuff. Rebooting several times along the way. Got to
the end and installed NAV 2005 and on a reboot, the mouse pointer is not
showing up on the screen. It has been detected on the inital boot. I go
into Control Panel and no problem there. I unistall NAV and still not
there. I then try to reinstall Windows (no format) and it's there, utnil I
try to reboot to the hard disk and it's not there. I go in on safe mode and
it is there. I haven't tried to go since it was there in the safe mode. I
had something else and knew I'd get involved. So I thought I'd ask for
advice.

Any thoughts. This one doesn't make sense. I am thinking that another
format might be in the cards, but I'm really trying to avoid that.

In the re-installation of Windows, a device conflict
might have occurred. Open Device Manager and check.
The only other thought would be that the PS/2 mouse
port --- not USB mouse, right? --- might have been
disabled or turned off by the OS. Take a look in the
bios setup screens. While there, also verify that
PnP OS is turned off, esp. if the Windows version is
not the original Win98 that was on this machine.
