logon user interface

im posting from my linux install cuz this is what Win2k does when it boots.
(takes more than thirty minuts to get to this error- from win2k loading screen with full splash screen)
it is at the resolution i use it at with the standard windows background where the setting up network connections and other stuff happens, only it never gets that far it only displays this:

logon user interface DLL msgina failed to load.

and it says to contact my sys admin for fixing/replacing...
is the only way to fix this = using the win2k CD to repair the windows install?
also any info on how this happens/about this error would be kewl aswell =)

may be of help, if not, run winnt and choose repair should sort it.
