Eccentric UPS battery replacement question

My old Tripplite Smart Int 700 UPS has gone AWOL. I didn't realize this before I bought a brand new RBC52 battery replacement cartridge. At the moment I am using a cheap Santak TG500 UPS that I am sure doesn't have such a good battery. Rather than wasting the high quality RBC52 battery I am trying to figure out if I can use it to replace the battery in the Santak TG500. I don't care if it fits in the case or not - but would prefer not to blow myself up. What do I need to do to figure out if this is doable or not?

  1. Don't. The risk of failure is moderate, the risk of explosion is low but there, and the risk of not protecting your equipment is high. What are your equipment and data worth to you?
