I have a Lacie firewire and maxtor usb external drives that are recognized in
device magager and in system tools drive manager but do not show up any where
else. I cant move files to them. Can any one offer a sugestion?

did you partition and format the drive using drive manager?

Have you used disk management to partition and format them?
