I have a Dell 8600 and it supposedly uses an NVIDIA GoForce FXGO5200 display
adapter according to the device manager in WinXP. I found that after going
into standby, I cant get the system to come out of it. Being that the screen
is dark, I'm not sure what's going on. The driver date for the display
adapter is Jan. 8, 2004 so it is relatively recent.
Right now, the only way to get out of standby is to cycle the power button
and reboot. Is there something I need to do to correct this?

Do you have the latest bios also.
Did you wait long enough for the screen to come up, I know mine takes a
while sometimes.

Yes, I reflashed the BIOS to A10. I waited for the screen to come up but it
never does.

Did you try the forums at the Dell community web site? I've had success
there when i've had a problem.
