Occasionally when I boot my tower Pc I get the message that a boot device is not detected.
I can overcome this by switching off the PC, opening case, disconnecting the SATA drive power cable, switching back on to receive the same boot error message (boot device is not detected), switching off again, reconnecting the drive power cable and switching on again. At switch on, the SATA drive is then detected and the XP OS loads as normal.
I never lose the use of the PC but it is a real pain to go through this procedure every time the problem occurs.
Any help to resolve the matter?

Obvious answer is to try using a different power connector, it seems it might be loose. Failing that option have you seen any other issues such as 'memory configuration changed' or CMOS clock error?
