I just received a nice compaq computer at work with win 2k...However I do not have admin priveledges...Woudl it be possible to put xp on as a dual boot so i could use xp to install stuff? Or would it couse problems wiht my existing win 2k setup? Would I need admin priveledges to install xp in the first place..thanks

Do you have at least 2 partitions on the hard drive or 2 hard disks?

I'd be careful, you may get sacked depending on your companies policy on installing software on their pc's

You would be better creating a new partition (if you only have one) but you will need to use a 3rd party util such as partition magic otherwise the existing data will be zapped.

you can partition from the xp cd (pro anyway) but you WILL lose your data, I'd use partition magic to do this.
