I'm a college student in India, looking to a buy a laptop. I expect to do a lot of multimedia generation such as image and video editing, 3D modelling, music production etc, along with watching movies in HD and some gaming (latest RPGs). But in the campus setting, I need a reasonable amount of battery life too.
I'm looking at sizes at least 15". My current laptop (HP dv5000) is finishing its 4th year and I expect to keep the next one for at least 3 years.
I was looking at the Dell Studio 15, with i5 540M, 4GB RAM, 500 GB 7200RPM HDD and ATI HD 5460 GPU. Are there better options available in the same price range (<65,000 max)? How do HP products fare in comparison? I also heard good things about Toshiba laptops, are those available in India? Thanks.
I'm unsure of what is available in India, but if you want to get an idea of what to expect performance wise from the Dell you have picked out, check out these links. If you can find one with a mobile i7 in it, the better, as the more computing power you have, the better off you'll be in terms of more productivity.
