Samsung smart tv cant find any network connections

Last response: in Home Theatre

Hello,
my brand new samsung smart tv wont find any wireless internet connections to connect to. When it searches it will spend about 30 seconds searching but never finds any. I know the wireless is working because there are sveral laptops connected and handheld devices. Distance also shouldn't be a problem because my laptop and Ipod have almost full bars in the same area as the TV. Any suggestions?

Which security protocol are you using on your wireless network and what protocols are compatible with your smart TV?

Here is your manual. Given the symptoms, I would guess that your wireless network does not broadcast itself (hidden) and therefore you should follow the steps on pgs 160-161.

i also have this problem.
I can connect with a cable but not through an adapter.
Are the adapters faulty?

I'm not sure if this will help or not but this is what finally worked for me. after trying for hours to figure this out. I too have multiple clients connected to my router but since the router was outdated I upgraded to a new one.

Still the same issue. Finally I decided to set the IP settings in the TV manually then pressed ok. I then turned the TV off for about a minute turned it back on then checked the network status on the TV menu.

I'm not sure exactly what the problem was but it was very reluctant to let go of a wrongly acquired "obtain automatically" settings. Just setting the IP settings manually won't fix it either unless you turn off the TV wait a minute then back on.

Hope this helps someone.

I had the same problem and couldn't find an answer, so I did some trial and error and got it working :D
Firstly update the TV firmware, you can do this by going to Samsung's support page and downloading the firmware for your set.. or plug in a LAN cable (setting the network through LAN) pressing menu-support-software update on your remote. I downloaded onto my laptop, opened the file and saved it to a USB stick, then did the above update method clicking on the use USB option.

Once the firmware is updated try searching again (make sure the LAN cable is out, otherwise it just sticks to using it and wont search) and hopefully it works.
If not don't panic as mine still didn't either.. so I turned the tv off for 2 minutes, turned it back on and BAM
UP AND ONLINE THROUGH WIRELESS :bounce:

update:
when I set my tv off. unplug the power for 5 min. then on . all wireless routers appear when I search for them in network setting , after 10 sec it vanish and it wont connect. so its a software issue not hardware. by the way , I plugged a Lan cable and updated the firmware to 001020 and still now doesn't working.

Im having the exact same problem, no networks are showing up. I did have to get a new modem recently and that is when the problem started, but all other devices are connected wireless-ly to the same network.
Even if there was a problem with my internet/modem, shouldn't other networks at least show up on the list?
Thanks

Also has 46'' ES7500 Series 7 Smart TV. Have the same problem with WiFi network connectivity.

I power TV on It then picks up my WiFi networks and display that dialog for a second before it closes. TV don't allow me to setup network.

I tried resetting the TV but the reset functionality don't cleanup the the network settings. I suspect the issue started with a Firmware upgrade a few months ago.

I've got the exact same problem. My Internet disconnected from the mains, so I was left without Internet for days. Today the guys from virgin got everything up and running with new connections. Tried booting the tv to get connected to the tv but no answer, no wireless networks found (even though there are many around). I've had the occasion where the list of networks pop-up and then disappear... Oh and guess what? No networks found and puts me back to the same network menu...
Any solutions? ...the evolution kit?

Sounds like the same problem I just started having on my UN46ES7500. I just moved, so I was trying to get all of my various devices attached to my new network. When I go into network settings, it prompts me to scan for available wireless networks. When I hit Start (or OK or whatever), it looks like it is scanning for about 30 seconds or so and then dumps me right back to the "We need to scan for available networks" screen.
At this point, I've got 3 computers, 2 tablets, 2 smart phones, another smart tv and a Roku all operating on this new network, so I'm pretty sure the network itself is not the problem.

Having same problem with New Samsung Smart TV (UE46F7000)not picking up a wireless connection.
I took the TV upstairs to where the router was and lo and behold it connected to the internet fine. Took the TV downstairs and internet didn't work on TV again. Yet in the same place, laptop picks up internet OK.
I guess the solution for me is to move the router closer to the TV so there is a stronger signal but it is a shame that the TV doesn't seems sensitive enough to pick up the signal.

Wow, I've been having this problem for the last 2 weeks and tried everything. I ended up opening a ticket with Samsung and waiting to see what happens. I encourage people to open a ticket so that Samsung can have a look at it.

I had a Samsung Technician over and without going into any troubleshooting, he just opened up the TV, replaced the WiFi Module (Part # BN59-01148B), and everything is working fine now. I asked him what could have gone wrong with the chip, and he just said it's an old one and not compatible with new routers. Doesn't make sense since I did not change routers. But anyways, it's fixed now. I can connect to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks.

I am having the same problem that is being reported by others. I have upgraded my unit's (un50eh5300) firmware to no avail. My questions:

1. How does one request a ticket? Is that the same as requesting service?
2. How long did the technician take to replace the module that may have been the culprit?
3. Did it cost you to replace the wifi module?

Yes, just use the Samsung support site for your country, you'll need the model and S/N. You will have to go through few emails back and forth as they suggest some fixes. Maybe if you call them, it will be faster.
When the tech was here, he did not do any troubleshooting, just decided to replace the module right away. Took maybe 15-20 mins, mostly spent on opening up the TV and putting it back together.
Mine was still under warranty, so no charge.
