Fan does not turn on

My Compaq presario fan never comes on and unit heats up and freezes or turns off. I cleaned the fan reset Bios to default and still nothing. The fan turns ok like it should work.

If adjusting it in the BIOS doesn't work, it is probably a sign that the either the fan is shot or the fan controller is shot. Most likely it is the fan. Before taking things apart though, get a can of air and cleaning out all of the heat exit ports on the laptop, i.e. the fan could just be clogged up.

Ok thanks, but I already took it apart and cleaned it. The fan will turn like nothing is wrong. All I knew how to do in Bios is restore defaults.
