I have a Lenovo H215 Desktop computer (AMD CPU, Win 7 64 bit) purchased in 2010 upon which I have never been able to get a download of th ADOBE reader for PDF files to successfully install.

I downloaded and saved the free reader download directly from the ADOBE website. I have installed this reader on my other Win 7 64 bit computers.

On this Lenevo computer I get the User Account Control dialogue panel asking if I want the program to change my system then when I respond nothing happens. No error messages, nothing. I run the install as adminstrator.

I have un installed all other applications on the system and run CCleaner with the same lack of results.

Any hints or clues as to what may be going wrong?

Have you tried running it with the user account control disabled (switched off)?
